Superintendent's Welcome

Dear D95 Community:

I am excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year. Staff, Custodians, Para Educators, Specialists and Administration have been hard at work preparing for another fabulous year.  If you are new to our District, it won’t take you long to realize what a great place D95 is for your child.  If you are returning to D95 for another year, you’ll quickly recognize our efforts focus on continuous improvement.

For the 23-24 school year, we continue to enhance our curriculum and instruction through increased coaching for staff, a robust new teacher mentor program, professional development opportunities for staff, and refinement of our existing curriculums.  New for D95 this year are a few furry friends in the form of dogs helping with social and emotional needs of students and the reopening of the Brook Park library with a refreshed focus on literacy, research, and technology resources.  The buildings continue to be enhanced through a new roof at Brook Park and outdoor learning spaces enhanced at BP.

As we enter the 23-24 school year, I hope you will find an opportunity to visit the buildings, meet with your child’s teachers, have your child participate in the various after school programs, and, perhaps, find an opportunity to volunteer during one of the school’s events.  D95 is a unique culture of a connected community and I appreciate your role in creating such an awesome learning environment for our kids.

I can’t end a note without reminding you that my “door”, which is now email, phone etc, is always open when you have a question, comment, concern, or want to share your positive D95 experience.  Off to another great year!
