Superstar Weekly Newsletter 9-29-23

Superstar Families,

We had an exciting week at BrookPark this week. We are really getting into the groove of the school year! Remember tonight is Hispanic Heritage Night at Brook Park from 6:30-8.  We have a few items to take a look before the weekend:

BP Book Drive:

Brook Park is hosting a book drive to support Bernie’s Book Bank, which gives books to children who don’t have books in their home. Please see the attached letter for information if you would like to donate, as there are specifications regarding books that can be donated. There will be a donation box inside the vestibule inside of Door 1.

Drills:

We will be having our bus evacuation drill on Tuesday, October 3rd. This is an opportunity for all students to practice bus safety.

SEL:

During Social Emotional Learning this week, students learned how to respond to unkind and unwanted behavior using Stop Walk Talk.  Visit the Brook Park School Social Work Corner to learn more

** Call for Volunteers

------------------------------------------------------------

The BPC is planning over 50 fundraisers and family events for the 2023 - 2024 school year and we need your help to pull it off! While large events will have their own call for volunteers and sign ups, we also may have many other opportunities that will pop up throughout the year. As part of our planning we are working to build a database of people that will be interested in volunteering or working on some of our committees. If you would like to be added to this database, you can register here. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeI2mZi6J61giS_IdCXIQSfeQNmyCH0AMwUhyZAhKWGxyMrPg/viewform

No prior experience is required to Co-chair a committee or volunteer in one of our events. If you have any special skills or availability (ie Graphic Design, Can Use Cricut, Sewing, Available During School Hours) please add them to the notes.  If you have any questions email the BPC Volunteer Coordinator, Karen Boylan at [email protected].

The Brook Park Council (BPC) is a parent/teacher organization supporting Book Park student education, co-curricular activities, recognition, and school spirit/community building. All parents, guardians, staff, faculty, and residents within the boundaries of Brook Park are welcome to volunteer in our events and committees.
