Superstar Weekly Newsletter ☘️ 3-17-23 ☘️

Parent Blast 3/17/23

Superstar Families,

We had an amazing week here at Brook Park and the 3rd-5th graders were working very hard on their IAR tests! We hope everyone has fun and is safe celebrating St. Patrick’s Day tonight! We are so lucky ☘️ to have the most wonderful students, staff and families. Please take some time to read about some upcoming events:

5 Essentials Survey:

We are inviting parents to complete the 5 Essentials Survey about Brook Park School and the link is http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ This information is important for us to continue to grow as a school. The survey is open from Jan. 24, 2023 and closes March 31, 2023.

We have reached our goal of 20% and we are currently at 22%. We would love to get closer to 30% to get a good perspective of our parents' thoughts.  Please help us reach our goal by taking the survey!

SEL Blurb:

Brook Park students (K-5) focused on self-management during their SEL lessons again this week.  Self-management is taking responsibility for your own choices.  This helps you make the best choices for yourself so you can reach your goals.  Students explored setting goals and the importance of routines.

K-Kids Shoe Drive:

Brook Park’s K-Kids club is hosting a Shoe Drive! Get started on your spring cleaning by gathering gently worn, used and new shoes! These shoes will get a second life with those in need. We’re collecting all types of shoes: sneakers, boots, dress shoes, sandals, athletic and casual shoes. The collection runs Feb. 27th through March 24th. There will be collection bins for each grade level as well as bins at Door 1 and Door 21.
