Superstar families,
We had a super week here at Brook Park and we are excited to have a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather forecasted for spring break. Thirty-six students will be coming back to Hybrid for the remainder of the year and we are excited to have them back. Here are a few important things to keep in mind:
School Safety:
Please make sure that if your family is utilizing the playground that everyone should be wearing masks, social distancing and avoiding group activities. Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe!
Asynchronous Learning Days- April 5th and May 7th:
We wanted to provide you with information regarding our asynchronous learning days on April 5th and May 7th.
Right after spring break, you will be receiving a schedule of activities from your Hybrid or Remote teacher to complete on April 5th. This schedule will reflect the time your child typically attends school in-person or on Zoom if they are remote. The other half of the day will look as it normally does with Specials, Science or Social Studies and WIN time.
The schedule will list activities that will be both computer based and paper and pencil based that will provide a range of learning activities to cover reading, math and social emotional learning.
The paper and pencil portion will be sent home for Remote students at the March 31st and April 1st packet pick-up, and the Hybrid students on the 1st. We do feel this is an important day of school but we also understand that your schedule might not allow for your child to complete all of the work.
Math Night In:
Thanks to all the families who participated in this yearβs Math Night In! Check out the video here! A big thank you to Ms. Lipuma and Ms. DeSalvo for all of their hard work in organizing this event!
5 Essentials Survey:
We are inviting parents to complete the 5 Essentials Survey about Brook Park School and the link is http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ This information is important for us to grow as a school. The survey is open from Feb. 3, 2021 and closes April 2, 2021. We are currently at just over 30% of parents that have completed the survey and this is the first time we get to see our parent feedback. Thank you for your participation in this!
BPC:
It is yearbook ordering time through the BPC! Click here to see the flyer.
Community Information:
Please click here for information about the Cook County COVID 19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program. The application is only open until April 2nd.
We hope everyone enjoys spring break and your family is able to spend some quality time with each other!
